In this all-outdoors summer camp set in downtown Carpinteria, students will create paintings, drawings, sculptures and more
inspired by the beauty of the ocean.

Taught by experienced art teachers Maureen Foley and Jennifer Buur
Ages: 5-10 (students must have completed Kindergarten)
Dates: June 28–August 6, 2010

Time: 9am–1pm (drop-off is between 8:45–9am and pick-up is between 12:30-1pm)

Cost: $150/week (Scholarships available)

Theme: Creature Cornucopia

Week One (June 28-July 2) & Week Four (July 19-23)

During these weeks, campers will draw, paint and sculpt all things imaginary animal-related. Dinosaurs and unicorns and more! Campers will also draw from life during a field trip to the beach and learn to sketch art in the 855 at the Arts Center Gallery.

Theme: Living Color

Week Two (July 5-9) & Week Five (July 26-30)

During these weeks, campers will draw, paint and sculpt portraits, self-portraits and all sorts of images of people from across the world. Campers will also draw from life during a field trip to the beach and learn to sketch art in the 855 at the Arts Center Gallery.

Theme: Earth, Air & Sky

Week Three (July 12-16) & Week Six (August 2-6)

 During these weeks, campers will draw, paint and sculpt images inspired by the natural world, from the ground to the atmosphere. Campers will also draw from life during a fieldtrip to the beach and learn to sketch art in the 855 at the Arts Center Gallery. 

Extra Information:

*Campers should bring a lunch everyday. Snack will be provided.

*Sunscreen and hats are mandatory to prevent sunburn.

*Campers should wear clothing that can get messy.

*There will be a student art exhibition on the final Friday during
pick-up time at the end of each week of camp. Family members are
encouraged to attend and enjoy a glass of lemonade with the student
artists and teachers.
